GLOW Santa Monica: Artshow & Foodtrucks

Do you love late nights but you're not a clubber? In fact, you're actually a bit more *gasp* cultured? Do you have insomnia and hope to find something cool to do in the wee hours of the weekend? Do you have a date you want to impress but you don't want to take her to a Hollywood bar on a Saturday night. Or are you broke and you're looking for something cool and FREE to do on a Saturday night?

GLOW is a free dusk til long-after art event in Santa Monica tomorrow, September 25 from 7pm - 3am. Located on the beach from Santa Monica to the Palisades, you'll find over 20 light installations and art displays. It's actually pretty darn cool, if you can stay up for it. Some of the artwork's actually kind of trippy but don't worry, you don't have to be on E to appreciate it.

Of course, there will be lots of food trucks on site to keep you going. Border Grill, Ahn Joo, Flying Pig, Frysmith amongst others will be up with you, enjoying the rare warm summer night in the fall.

It can get pretty crowded. Based on experience, I would recommend either cabbing it, taking the beach cruiser all the way west, or valeting at one of the ocean side restaurants and grabbing dinner before your artwalk. One year, I parked with Tengu and grabbed drinks and a bite before walking to the pier. It beats having to park in one of the crowded parking structures.

GLOW is a great way to explore the Westside, catch some foodtrucks and have a cultured night of contemporary art. Go to http://www.glowsantamonica.org/ for more info.
